If anything the lore was about capsuleers being the new heroes of the Eve universe. Being in the captains closet, looking like I'm on drugs and deciding buying a pair of pants is too expensive sort of brought that crashing down. I mean why would I even leave the pod which has all the power of my quarters wired directly into my brain in a more convenient fashion?
Because there's Lore-based precedent for it. One of the Chronicles I remember reading was someone looking to sign up to fly in an Apocalypse of a Capsuleer as their maintenance crew, and he was extremely honored. But he got to speak with the Capsuleer face-to-face first, making special note of the absolute perfection and scarless-ness of his hands.
"These are not the hands of a killer," he said, "but this is the face of one."
The ship ultimately got destroyed and was replaced two days later, with no word being sent to the protagonist's next of kin... but that's EVE.

Loving everything so far, especially the news feed on the center screen! I think the notification of new players joining was a really nice touch. I anticipate one day becoming bored and just sending messages to new players I see pop up, welcoming them to New Eden.

I love how people like you assume anyone with anything good to say about the expansion is a CCP alt. Turns out, there's actual players who can enjoy things for what they are, rather than ***** about them.

I've but one complaint.
I can't get close enough to touch my ship. I want a gangplank and I want my character to be able to touch the hull of my Battlecruiser. This would make me very happy.

Or better yet, keep your current laptop for travel, and play on a real tower, which is cheaper to get for more powerful hardware anyway.
